Dr. Diana Garland
Director of the Center for Family & Community Ministries; Chair of the School of Social Work, Baylor University, Waco, Texas
An author, lecturer, and consultant, Dr. Garland has
worked with numerous agencies, universities, churches, and religious
organizations in the area of family ministry. She is currently
conducting research on family faith and on the strengths and challenges
of families in Christian congregations. Her books include: Sacred Stories of Ordinary Families: Living the Faith in Daily Life; Family Ministry; and, Precious in His Sight: A Guide to Child Advocacy.
Dr. James Nestingen
Professor of Church History, Luther Seminary
Dr. Nestingen has taught at Luther Seminary for over 20
years. He has a deep-rooted passion for teaching key concepts at the
very heart of Lutheranism. Prior to teaching at Luther, he led
congregations in Oregon, Toronto and Tanzania, Africa. His books
include: The Faith We Hold; Martin Luther: His Life and His Writings; Roots of Our Faith; and Free to Be, co-authored with Gerhard Forde.
Dr. Roland Martinson
Carrie Olson Baalson Professor of Children, Youth and Family Ministry, Luther Seminary
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Martinson has taught pastors
and lay leaders to be pro-active in shaping families for life and faith
and to be responsive to ministering to families in crises. He is a
member of the National Council on Family Relations. His written works
include: Sexual Orientation: The History and Significance of an Idea; Gearing Up for Youth Ministry in the 21st Century; Couch or Confessional.
